London Broncos settle £166,000 tax bill after HMRC winding-up petition
London Broncos' parent company, London Rugby League Limited, was hit with a winding-up petition from HMRC on Monday over unpaid tax. The club says it has since paid the roughly £166,000 owed in full.
Co-owner Grant Wechsel blamed the delay on a change of registered address with Companies House, saying no notice was received before a third party flagged the petition. Half the sum had been outstanding less than a week, the club said.
The Championship side are seeking Super League promotion. Owners include Wechsel, Darren Lockyer and Gary Hetherington.
