Dunstone injects £34m into Purplebricks after HMRC petition

Purplebricks is reported to have secured a £34m bailout from TalkTalk billionaire Sir Charles Dunstone. The move follows a winding-up petition served on the estate agency by HMRC last week.

Dunstone's Freston Ventures had already converted £25.6m of loans into equity at parent company Strike in June, with Freston and Toscafund also providing secured lending.

Purplebricks said the HMRC petition stemmed from an admin error, insisted tax liabilities were settled, and said the petition was being withdrawn.
