Global Airlines faces High Court winding-up bid over unpaid debts
Global Airlines, the British startup planning to fly secondhand Airbus A380s, faces a compulsory liquidation petition in the High Court in London. Creditors, represented by law firm Vedder Price, filed winding-up petition CR-2026-004213 on 29 May 2026.
Hearings before Insolvency Judge Barber took place on 15 July and 2 September. The company's only aircraft, registered 9H-GLOBL, has been parked at Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport in France since 16 July 2025, after completing just two round trips under a damp lease with Hi Fly Malta.
Chief executive James Asquith maintains the jet will return to service before Christmas 2026. The company faces a 30 September 2026 deadline to file 2025 accounts at Companies House, and has seen several director departures this year.
