VMS Fleet Management closes in administration with 136 redundancies

By: InsolvencyIndex27 Oct 2026
VMS Fleet Management, a contract hire and fleet management company, has entered administration and will be wound down after no buyer emerged. BTG Begbies Traynor LLP are joint administrators, and 136 staff have been made redundant.

Latest status: VMS (Fleet Management) Limited – Administration (20 Oct 2026)

The appointment followed a winding-up petition from HMRC dated 9 September. BTG's Jeremy Karr, Simon Killick and Joanne Hammond were appointed on 20 October at the invitation of the directors and the bank as floating charge holder, after no offers for the business as a going concern were forthcoming. A further 24 employees are retained to assist the administration.

The firm managed about 6,570 vehicles. The administrators' priorities are redundancy claims, securing assets, debtor recoveries and investigations into the company's affairs.
