Fee-sharing firm Mezzle Law enters administration before HMRC petition hearing

By: The Law Society Gazette26 Oct 2026
Mezzle Law, a consultant-model law firm launched in 2021, has appointed administrators from FTS Recovery. The appointment came the day before a winding-up petition brought by HM Revenue & Customs was due to be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The firm has effectively ceased trading. A skeleton staff and some consultant lawyers remain to assist a solicitor manager overseeing the orderly work-out of client files, with the Solicitors Regulation Authority being kept updated.

HMRC issued the petition in August. Mezzle acquired Gotelee Solicitors in 2024. Mel Kang is the sole remaining director. Accounts to December 2024 showed net assets of about £826,000, including cash of £436,000.
