Glens of Antrim Potatoes in administration, 95 jobs lost as trading ends

By: Kidderminster Shuttle31 Oct 2026
Glens of Antrim Potatoes Ltd, the Northern Ireland potato supplier and crisp brand owner based in Cushendall and Ballymena, has entered administration and ceased trading. Interpath's Stuart Irwin, Ian Leonard and Robin Coughlin were appointed joint administrators on September 21.

Latest status: Glens Of Antrim Potatoes Limited – Administration (2 Oct 2026)

Founded in 1972, the company supplied potatoes across the UK and Ireland and launched its crisp brand in 2015. It employed 95 people, nearly all now redundant, with a small number kept on to support the administration.

Rising sector costs created cash flow pressure. The directors explored refinancing and new investment, but neither proved viable. The administrators are inviting expressions of interest in the business and its assets.
