Glens of Antrim Potatoes falls into administration, 95 jobs lost

By: heraldscotland.com7 Oct 2026
Northern Ireland potato grower and packer Glens of Antrim Potatoes has entered administration after rising costs and cashflow pressures left no solvent option. Interpath's Stuart Irwin, Ian Leonard and Robin Coughlin were appointed joint administrators on 21 September.

Latest status: Glens Of Antrim Potatoes Limited – Administration (2 Oct 2026)

The Cushendall and Ballymena-based firm, founded in 1972 and supplying supermarkets plus its own crisps brand, employed 95 staff. Trading has ceased, with most made redundant and a few retained to assist the administration.

Administrators are inviting expressions of interest in the business and its assets.
