Clark Sinclair Limited – Winding-up petition: Manchester £1 company-sale broker wound up in the public interest

By: fish4news.co.uk7 Nov 2026
The High Court ordered Clark Sinclair Limited, a Manchester-registered firm, to be wound up on 29 October 2026 following an Insolvency Service investigation. It had charged directors of struggling businesses £2,500 to £6,800 to broker sales of their companies for £1.

Latest status: Clark Sinclair Limited – Winding-up petition (1 Oct 2026)

Investigators found the company promoted a misleading alternative to formal insolvency and gave no warning that its recommended steps could breach directors' duties. Payments of £123,052 were traced across two accounts, and 51 companies appeared to have changed hands. The recorded sole director denied knowing of the company, and the person behind it was not identified.

The order was made under section 124A of the Insolvency Act 1986. Enquiries go to the Official Receiver's Public Interest Unit.
