Jason Atherton's Sael restaurant operator goes into liquidation
Carlton Social Ltd, the company behind chef Jason Atherton's Sael restaurant in St James's, London, has entered creditors' voluntary liquidation. The modern British brasserie had quietly closed earlier this year after less than two years trading.
Kevin Weir of Hudson Weir was appointed liquidator. Accounts showed assets of £2.5m, cash of £19,000 and net liabilities of £598,000, with 29 staff employed on average.
Sael opened in 2024 on Carlton Street, on the former Aquavit site.
