British fibre firm Airband collapses, network immediately sold to Voneus

Kevin Wall and Alastair Paul Beveridge were appointed as administrators. The takeover by Voneus was already concluded on 10 September, a sign that a buyer was likely lined up before the formal insolvency. Financial details, the cause of the problems and the consequences for staff have not been disclosed.

The deal brings Voneus to 170,000 premises passed, strengthening its position as a rural broadband provider. The sector is grappling with high investment costs and increasing consolidation pressure due to more expensive financing.
