Staff at Britain's Lime House School unpaid for weeks amid looming liquidation

Genwise Ltd has been in a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) since February 2026 and ceased trading at the end of August owing to serious financial difficulties. Creditors' voluntary liquidation is being considered, but no liquidator has yet been appointed. Until one is, the directors remain responsible for personnel matters.

The NEU union reports that staff have not yet been formally dismissed, but have gone without pay for weeks and have no clarity on redundancy procedures. Should liquidation actually go ahead, employees may be able to claim from a government scheme covering unpaid wages, notice periods, holiday pay and redundancy payments.
